The Brio Name

Brio means enthusiasm, vivacity, energy and drive, qualities that we bring to each client and project.   Brio is also an acronym for "Building resourceful, intelligent organizations," and that is the heart of what we do.

About the Dot

In the folklore of West Africa and many parts of the Americas, a spider collects and spreads wisdom. The spider web symbol in the Brio logo represents not only wisdom, but the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and wisdom with others.

Mark Wehmeyer, P.E., is Brio's President. Mark is an industry veteran whose 40+ years of experience include serving as a Board Member and Executive Vice President for a utility automation consulting firm prior to joining Brio. Mark has also worked as an engineer, project manager, and principal in the utility and petrochemical industries.

Brio has the knowledge and experience to tackle a wide range of public sector challenges. The company was founded not only to help clients confront these challenges but also to build connections among people with common goals and concerns.  Knowledge-sharing and collaboration are the building blocks of effective organizations that can focus on the problems at hand, plan solutions wisely, and take action with the courage to measure outcomes, learn and adapt.

Brio Consulting was established by Nancy Lerner as a woman-owned business that assists utilities and local governments with the implementation of industry leading practices, business-driven technology, and community partnerships that improve service levels while reducing costs.  Nancy is Brio's Chief Executive Officer.

Nancy has 30 years of industry experience, including several years as a local government employee and more than 20 years as a Principal Consultant and Vice President at a large consulting firm prior to founding Brio.  She has worked with scores of clients and developed a network of seasoned, highly skilled colleagues who share her passion for helping local governments and utilities excel.
